At the Global Cyber Security Association (GCA), we are committed to protect your personal data and respect your privacy at all times in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), national Swiss legislation and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection 1992 (FADP).

1. When and why does this Policy apply?

In accessing our website at GCA – Global Cybersecurity Association and in registering to our services, you give us the consent to process your personal data such as name, address, email address, internet protocol (IP) address, time zone and location, the type of device, browser and version used to access the website. We do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The reason behind the need of processing your personal data collected through our website is to provide you with our services and to allow you to have a personalised experience anytime and anywhere while using any type of device. We will do so while acting in accordance with applicable legislation at all times, for no longer than what is necessary and for the limited purpose provided under this Policy. When accessing our website, you are in control of the type of personal data you want us to collect from you and you can determine the type of cookies you want us to collect from you. This is because it is paramount to us to protect your privacy and we want you to be in control of your personal data.

You have the right to exercise any of your rights under Chapter 3 of GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) of Switzerland.

2. How do you use my personal data collected on your website?

When you access our website, we use your personal data to:

  • Make sure that our website and services function in order to allow you to enjoy the navigation experience;

  • Deal with potential malware attacks to our servers.

In order to provide you our services through our website, we collect cookies. When you access our website through third parties such as Google, LinkedIn or other social media, we may collect that information about your visit to our Website. This is to allow us to analyse how our users interact with the website and what are their preferences.

We may share anonymised usage data regarding our website users to third parties to help us improve the delivery of a user-friendly navigation experience. This type of information will not specifically identify you. We will always do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy and while acting in compliance with legislation at all times.

We may share your personal data when we are under a legal obligation to do so and to protect the rights of our website users.

Please be reminded that we will not be responsible for those third parties and for the way they manage their cookies.

The website may also provide links that will lead you to other third parties’ online properties and web pages. Those third parties’ online properties will be subject to their own Privacy Policies. We will not therefore be responsible for the way they process your personal data or their own privacy policies even if you access those online properties through our website.
